ฉบับนี้ เราจะฝึกสนทนาด้วยคำว่า too ที่ใช้ย่อความที่เหมือนกัน เช่น

James is funny; John is too.

ทั้งสองประโยคใช้กริยาหลักว่า is ในประโยคที่สอง จึงใช้ is เช่นกัน เพียงแต่ลดคำคุณศัทท์ funny ไป ถ้าเป็นกริยาอื่น ประโยคที่สองจะต้องใช้กริยาช่วย เช่น Verb to Do ซึ่งมี do, does ใช้แสดงกาลปัจจุบันและ did ใช้แสดงกาลในอดีต เช่น

We watch TV until midnight; I did too.

คราวนี้เรามาฝึกใช้ too แสดงความพ้องกันระหว่างผู้พูด A และผู้อ่านเป็น B ตอบความพ้องกัน

A: My sister likes Durian.

B: I …………………… (I do too)

A: We used to live in Chiangmai.

B: They …………………….. (They did too)

A: Sombat is intelligent.

B: His sister ………………… (His sister is too)

A: He was tired after playing football.

B: I ……………. (I did too)

การเห็นพ้อง ยังใช้ and so ตามด้ววยกริยา หากประโยคแรกใช้กริยา Verb to Do ประโยคที่ใช้ and so ก็จะใช้ Verb to Do นั้นต่อความ เช่น

A: His child is afraid of darkness. My child is afraid of darkness.

B. His child is afraid of darkness, and so is my child.

A: Chiangmai is a charming city. Chiangrai is a charming city.

B: Chiangmai is a charming city, and so is Chiangrai

ถ้ากริยาในประโยคแรก เป็นกริยาอื่นๆ ประโยคที่สอดคล้องจะใช้กริยาช่วย Verb to Do ตามพจน์ และกาลในประโยคแรก เช่น

A: My sister likes durian. I like durian.

B: My sister likes durian, and so do I.

A: He told me to wait here. The secretary told me to wait here.

B: He told me to wait here, and so did his secretary.
