อาทิตย์ที่แล้วเราผึกพุดด้วย คำคุณศัพท์ (Adjective0 ใช้ร่วมกับคำบุพบท (Preposition) ฉบับนี้ เราจะฝึกใช้คำคุณศัพท์กับ Infinitive ซึ่งเป้นคำกริยาที่มี to นำ ใช้แสดงจุดประสงค์ เช่น

She was kind to help us. เธอใจดีที่ช่วยเรา

He is too honest to tell a lie. เขาซื่อตรงมากที่จะพูดปด

The movie is too scary to watch. ภาพยนต์น่ากลัวเกินที่จะดุ

Our trip was so wonderful to forget. การท่องเที่ยวของเราวิเศษมากเกินที่จะลืมได้

The news was too good to be true. ข่าวดีเกินที่จะเป้นจริง

ให้สังเกตุว่าเมื่อใช้ so ร่วมกับคำคุณศัพท์ ความหมายจะเป้นบวก หากใช้ too ร่วมกับคำคุณศัพท์ ความหมายจะเป้นลบ

นอกจากนี้ เราอาจเติมความหลังคำคุณศัพท์ว่าเป็นของใคร ด้วยคำ of / for เช่น

It’s foolish to neglect his party It’s foolish of him to neglect his party.

It was good to do that for us. It was good of them to do that for us.

It was careless not to vote.* It was careless of me not to vote.

It was easy to convince me. It was easy to for them to convince me.
