Adjective หรือ คำคุณศัพท์ ใช้กับอนุประโยค (clause) ที่นำด้วย that หรือใช้กับ Infinitive Phrase ที่นำด้วย to Clause หรืออนุประโยค ประกอบด่วย ประธาน (Subject) และ กริยา (Verb) เช่น

He was lucky that he won the primary.

Infinitive Phrase หรือวลีที่นำด้วย to เพิ่อแสดงจุดประสงค์ ของการกระทำ เช่น

He was lucky to win the primary.

หมายเหตุ ๑ หากกริยาเป็นปฎิเสธ เช่น

I was disappointed that I did not go to Chiangmai with you.

เมื่อเป็น to infinitive จะไม่เอา to นำหน้า not แต่จะเอา not นำหน้า to เป็น

I was disappointed not to go to Chiangmai with you.

หมายเหตุ ๒ หากกริยามี can/could ประกอบ ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น to be able to เช่น

I was disappointed that I could not go to Chiangmai with you

ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น

I was disappointed not to be able to go to Chiangmai with you.
