Meeting with Lieutenant Governor of Utah

On April 1, 2024, Consul-General Tor Saralamba led a group of Thai government agencies based in Los Angeles comprised of Board of Investment, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Thai Trade Center and a Vice President from N.A. Trading to meet with Deidre Henderson, Lieutenant Governor of Utah.

During a fruitful discussion, Consul-General elaborated on Thailand Business Forum which had been held earlier that day at the World Trade Center Utah. The Forum aimed to showcase Thailand’s economic development which will include sustainability in every process to ensure that the future development will be “clean and green” reducing the income gap and the environmental effects. He also pointed out that electric vehicle and renewable energy are the areas that Thailand and United States can further the cooperation, and dwelling on the 5 Thailand’s inbound investment priorities. Then, Consul-General shared Thailand’s plan on future food and plant-based food and invited Utah-based importers to participate in ThaiFex, one of the biggest Asia Pacific’s food and beverage trade exhibition.

This was the second meeting between Consul-General and Lieutenant Governor, but it was the first official bilateral meeting between them.


Sites Visits arranged by the Church of Jesus Christs of the Latter-Day Saints

During April 1-2, 2024, the Team Thailand delegation also had great opportunities to visit several interesting site operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints which were Taylorsville Temple, Church Office Building, Welfare Square, Humanitarian Center, and Bishop Central Storehouse. And on April 3, the Team Thailand delegation had a discussion with the President and executives of the Mission Training Center (MTC), then a meaningful talk with a group of missionaries who are taking Thai language class before departing for Thailand in the next 4 weeks ended by a luncheon with the faculty and missionaries who were in Thailand hosted by the Brigham Young University.
